Differences between the square (Melco) coils and round (Delphi) coils.

A very common mistake is accidentally ordering the wrong coils for your GM truck or SUV (Silverado, Suburban, Sierra, Express Van, etc. etc.). These vehicles come with two different style ignition coil, and the best way to identify which coils you have is by opening the hood. We know it can be confusing, so we made a video to explain in more detail how to find the right ignition coils for your GM truck/SUV.  For your convenience, we have included all part numbers here as well to allow you to easily identify which coils you may have. Round and square don't literally mean you will see a coil that is completely round, but the round coil have a cylinder-like body to them, whereas the square coils have a boxy shape to them. The body of the square coils is nothing close to a cylinder shape. We also explain the difference between the square and round coils for the classic and regular 2007 model versions (these can be the most confusing!). We have high quality ignition coils here for incredible prices because we order large quantities of a single item, allowing us to pass on these savings to our customers.

You can identify them by VIN number, but we have stopped doing that as we realized that many of these vehicles have been around for a long time, and because these vehicles are not usually scrapped, people just replace any bad engine and continue on. This makes it difficult to determine the coils by VIN number. Basically, GM made a great product, and people don't want to sell them.
