The large LH (left hand - driver's side) motor mount for the '97-'01 Honda CRV sustains most of the engine's forces as it moves. This is the most commonly broken mount in this vehicle. These break over time from age, stress, or even oil leaks. The life of the mount can vary greatly depending on how the your CRV driven. Hard acceleration from a stand still puts the most stress on this particular motor mount. Replacing this mount will ensure other components such as ground cables, wire harnesses, Air Conditioning lines, etc. won't get damaged from the engine physically moving around. Typical symptoms of a bad engine mount are a "thump" sound when stepping on the gas. This may not always be the case however as CRV owners may not notice slop increasing slowly over the years. New engine mounts will allow your engine to be held in place properly.
