Ignition Coils for 2005 Toyota Avalon

 

2005 was the first year of the new body style and 3.5L 2GR-FE V6 motor with the Avalon. As expected, this Avalon used different ignition coils than the previous generations. As usual, there are 6 independent ignition coils used with this Avalon. If these have never been replaced, and one fails, we recommend to replace the rest of the ignition coils. Do you HAVE to purchase all 6 ignition coils? No, but the older the coils are, the more it is recommended to change them all at once. Many owners that replace old coils in their Avalons one at a time end up having to replace each every few months. Replacing them all at once not only prevents you from having to do this job all over, but you can save money on the set of 6. The coils from the local auto parts store can cost $50 or more for each coil. Yes, that is EACH.
