Ignition Coils For 2000 Nissan Maxima 

 

2000 was the first year of the fifth generation Maxima (A33), and the ignition coil design changed sightly. Just like the previous generation, the front ignition coils were different than the back, and they even look identical, but the design was change very sightly and they are not interchangeable. You can drive the Maxima with a bad ignition coils, but don't do it for too long, as this sends unburned fuel into the catalytic converter. If your coils are original, or several years old, and one fails, we recommend to replace all 6 ignition coils together as the other coils may be a the end of their lifespan.
