Ignition Coil For 2007 Mitsubishi Galant

Ignition Coils For 2007 Mitsubishi Galant

The 2007 Galant uses one ignition coil pack per spark plug. If you have the 2.4L 4 Cyl Galant, your car uses 4 ignition coils. If you have the 3.8L V6 Galant, your car will need 6 ignition coils. Each coil pack is held on by just one bolt, making replacement straight forward. The hardest part is getting to the ignition coil. Check out our how-to section to find out just how to do this. It is common for the 2007 Galant to have a coil go bad, so don't panic if your Galant is misfiring. We have the full set of 4 or 6 coil packs for your car at prices that are reasonable. Many people come to us because the ignition coils at the local auto parts store cost around $50 each. This is simply too much if you have to change all of the ignition coils. A frequently asked question is "why are your coils so much cheaper than the local auto parts store?" are they low quality? No, they are the same quality parts you would find at the local stores. The difference is that we buy several hundred to several thousand of each ignition coil compared to the local stores buying just a few of each. This allows us to get the best discounted price and pass it on to you, our customer.

Replacing All of the Ignition Coils in Your Galant

Many people wonder if they have to replace all of the coils in their Galant. Our recommendation is that if your ignition coil packs are around the 7 year old mark, or you are not sure if they have ever been replaced, it's best to change them all. If they are newer than 7 years, you might be able to get away with replacing just one coil. The reason why we recommend this is that old ignition coils tend to fail at the same time. This is usually withing a few months between each other. The other reason why we recommend the set is that it is just much cheaper. Even if you buy a set of coils locally, it is still a lot cheaper  than buying one coil at a time (even though they still can't match our price ;) ). Common symptoms of a bad ignition coil is a misfiring engine. You will notice a lack of power when trying to accelerate, and cruising may seem just fine. Other times you may notice the engine misfiring the entire time, even while cruising. You can use an OBDII scanner to scan the check engine light and find out which cylinder is misfiring. From there you can swap the bad coil to see if the misfire code follows the coil If it does, you definitely have a bad ignition coil pack. From here the solution is to simply replace them. If you decide to change your spark plugs at the same time, make sure they are properly gaped. Spark plugs with gaps too large can cause coils to be overworked and fail prematurely.
