2007

The 2007 Mercury Mariner has 2 different engines that both use individual coil on plugs. The 2.3L (including hybrid) uses the DG541 coils, and the 3.0L V6 uses the DG500 ignition coils. We have the full set of 4 or 6 depending on which engine your 2007 Mercury Mariner uses.  Other common part numbers are 4M5G-12A366-BB (also ending in BA and AA) and for the 3.0L V6 18LZ12029AA, 18LZ12029AB, 1L8Z12029AA, or DG513.

2007 Mercury Mariner Ignition Coil Packs

It is quite common for the 2007 Mercury Mariner to have a bad ignition coil. Many owners notice this as their engine starts to run rough, and the check engine light turns on. When many people find out how much a replacement ignition coil is, they are shocked. Each ignition coil can run from $40 all the way up to $100. This means for the 2.3L '07 Mercury Mariner, it can cost $200-$400 just for the parts, and for the V6, $300-$600. Yikes, this is a lot of money for just the parts. This doesn't even include the labor. Many owners find themselves nearing $1,000 on the repair, when it can be done for so much less. At Araparts, we have the ignition coils for prices that will shock you and leave you asking "how are your coil packs so cheap?". The answer is that our ignition coils are not cheap as in low quality. They are low in price, but retain the same quality that you'd find in most $50 each aftermarket coils at your local auto parts store. You see, the local auto parts store may purchase just 6 to keep on had at once. We purchase 500-1,000 or more, JUST for the 2007 Mercury Mariner. This means that we get the same quality parts for much less, and we pass these savings on to you.

2007 Mercury Mariner Misfire Symptoms

If you are ready to rip out the old coil packs and slap some new ones in, hold on for just a second. While bad coil packs are the most common reason to get a misfire in your Mercury Mariner, there are other reasons it can misfire. There are free and very cheap ways to find out what is causing the misfire. First grab your OBDII scanner. If you don't own one, you can find these for well under $20 online. We even plan on carrying these in the future, but in the mean time we are happy to refer you to a good low cost scanner. When you scan for check engine light codes, you will see DTC codes similar to these if your Mariner is indeed misfiring: P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, and P0306. Each number represents the cylinder of the misfire. We have cylinder diagrams for the 2.3L 2007 Mercury Mariner, and for the 3.0L V6 Mercury Mariner. When you get the misfire code, you are going to want to move the ignition coil over to another cylinder. If the misfire code changes to the cylinder the presumed bad ignition coil. If the code does not change, then you know it is something else causing the misfire, and you just saved yourself from the hassle of purchasing parts that you never needed. If you feel a misfire, but there is no check engine light, there is a way to find these. The PCM in your 2007 Mercury Mariner records all misfires, but may not always turn the check engine light on if it determines the misfire not to be occurring enough. You can check out our video and write up on how to find these using Mode 6 (cheaper than you'd expect)
