New ignition coils for your 2004 Mazda Tribute will restore power and fuel economy. The V6 Tributes had an issue with the PCM computer failing and damaging the ignition coils. While this isn't the case for every ignition coil failure, it's best to make sure your PCM is operating properly by following the proper testing procedures. We have recommendations for a replacement if you are looking for one. And of course we have the ignition coils for your Tribute at prices no local store can touch. Continue on to find out how much money you can save.

2004 Mazda Tribute Ignition Coil

2004 Mazda Tribute Ignition Coil Packs

The ignition coils in the 2004 Tribute are individual coil on plugs. Theses are also referred to as coil packs, C.O.P, or ignition coils. The 4 Cyl Tribute uses a single coil pack with spark plug wires, and the 2003 Tribute V6 uses 6 individual ignition coils. Three of these coil packs are right in the front on top of the engine, and can be removed with a 7mm socket or wrench. The other three are behind the intake manifold, and despite what people think, this is an easy job. Anybody who has removed the intake manifold wil explain how it can be removed in 10 minutes. A beginner can remove it in 20-30 minutes. Unlike other vehicles, the intake manifold on the Tribute was designed to be easily serviced. Our goal at Araparts is to empower our customers to be able to replace the parts themselves, because while there are many good reputable auto shops, there are just as many auto repair shops that are ready to lie and cheat. They will upsell you heavily on most auto parts and charge you $100 or more just to look at your vehicle; even if they already know what the problem is. We want our customers to avoid going through these type of issues, and that is why we provide not only information on how to do the job, but how to diagnose the problem as well.

2004 Mazda Tribute Misfire Symptoms

If your 2004 Mazda Tribute has a misfire, you will feel the engine hesitate as you attempt to accelerate, and it may feel a little bit smoother while cruising at a higher speed. This is a telltale sign of a misfire. If you have a check engine light, you can use your trusty OBDII scanner to find out why it's on. Misfire codes on your 2004 Tribute will range from P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire detected) all the way to P0306 (Cylinder 6 misfire detected). If you want to make sure it's the ignition coils before guess purchasing parts, you can swap the bad ignition coil over to another cylinder and re-scan to see if the misfire follows the ignition coil. This way you will know for sure before you spend money on your Mazda. We recommend to drive a little bit after swapping the ignition coil to allow the PCM computer enough time to read and register the new misfire location, or you may get a false reading.

Araparts Guarantee For Your Mazda Tribute

The guarantee is more than just the warranty. Of course we warranty the ignition coils for as long as you own your Mazda, but we also guarantee that the parts will be correct, or we will pay for return shipping and replace of refund you in full.
