2002

The 2002 Ford Excursion uses individual coil on plugs. The 2v 5.4L V8 Excursion uses 8 coil packs, and the 2v 6.8L V10 Excursion uses 10 coil packs. We have quality aftermarket ignition coils for an incredible price. These are not like the other cheap low quality ignition coils you've seen online that only last a few months. Our ignition coils use copper internals and are designed to last for years to come. If they don't, we will replace any ignition coil that fails, and pay for all shipping back and fourth. We also include free how-to information below on diagnosing and solving misfires in your 5.4L V8 or 6.8L V10 Ford Excursion.

2002 Ford Excursion Ignition Coil

2002 Ford Excursion Ignition Coil Packs

-Tools needed for this job:

-7mm socket & ratchet

-Different length extensions

-Swivel socket

-If you change the spark plugs, blow out debris from around the ignition coil before removing them with an air compressor, or any other brush or rag you can find.

The 2002 Ford Excursion commonly sees bad ignition coils from time to time. As these ignition coils age and began failing, it's best to change all of them at once. This is especially true if all of the ignition coils are 7 years old or even original and over 7 years. The full set of 8 and 10 for the V8 and V10 Excursions will save you a ton of money on this repair. Single ignition coils will take a lot of your time away, unless you don't mind doing the same job 8 or 10 times. Araparts hold a commitment to excellence when it comes to the entire process. While we are an online auto parts warehouse, we want to help you save money on the repairs, and offer as much information on diagnosing a misfire in your 2002 Ford Excursion as we can. We hear stories of customers who have spent over $500 on just diagnostics alone. There are a few things to know with your Excursion, and other 2v Fords. These vehicles are known for misfiring occasionally while putting the engine under a load, but will not turn on a check engine light. Now if you have a check engine light on, then diagnosis will be pretty straight forward. If you take it to the dealer you will be paying an arm, a leg and a liver to get the problem diagnosed. If you take it to an independent mechanic shop, they may or may not be aware that the 2002 model year Excursions use Mode 6. Lots of vehicles from that time period did not have Mode 6. This will lead the mechanic to either throw parts at it, or spend a lot of time diagnosing the problem a different way, along with a big charge.

At Araparts, we offer ways for you to diagnose the problem without spending a ton of money. If you have experienced a misfire and no check engine light, check out our guide on how to find this problem out. You can easily save several hundred dollars on this step alone. Then once you have identified the misfiring cylinder in your 2002 Excursion, V8 and V10, swap the coil pack over to the next cylinder. Rescan to see if the misfire code follows the ignition coil. Make sure to reset the PCM as well to allow the PCM to re-read the misfire properly. This will prevent any false OBDII codes.

Lifetime Warranty Coil Packs for 2002 Ford Excursion

Yes, we are confident in the quality of our parts. These aren't just the cheap stuff you may or may not have seen online. We have seen cheaper coils that are missing the ferrite (reduces the engine whine in your stereo speakers), using aluminum windings, or with really cheap hard rubber boots (cracks easily) or even with connectors terminals that do not lock on. Our ignition coils are built to the same standards as the OE coil packs, and we guarantee them for as long as you own your 2002 Ford Excursion.
