2000 Ford Excursion Ignition Coil

2000 Ford Excursion Ignition Coil Packs

The 2000 Ford Excursion uses 2 different engines. A 2v 5.4L V8 and a 2v 6.8L V10. Each of these engines use DG508 individual ignition coil on plugs. This means that there is one coil pack per cylinder. As these age, they tend to fail within a short period of time from one another. With the high cost of these, it's just not worth purchasing them from a local auto store. We are here to solve this issue. We specialize in getting high quality aftermarket ignition coils in very large volume. This allows us to get these parts at prices that are reasonable for many Ford Excursion owners. If you are having trouble finding the problem with your Excursion, keep reading. We have full sets of 8 and 10 coil packs for your 5.4L V8 or 6.8L V10 engine. We want to save you money on more than just the parts alone. We want to save you money on the entire process.

Diagnosing a Misfire in Your 2000 Ford Excursion For a Low Cost

To start things off, we need to know one thing. Is the check engine light on, or do you feel a misfire, but see no check engine light? If you do hav a check engine light, all you need is a basic $10 OBDII scanner. These can be found online for the price of a cup of coffee at many online retailers. If you do not have a check engine light on, but feel a misfire, then you will need an OBDII scanner with Mode 6. These start at $50, and will pay for themselves. The Mode 6 scanners allow you to view misfires before the check engine light turns on. If you take your Excursion to a dealer to do this, you will pay through the nose to get this simple diagnostic test done, and if you take it to a regular garage, they may not be aware that the 2000 Excursion had the Mode 6 technology. Not many vehicles has this type of diagnostic technology yet back in the year 2000, and if the mechanic is not aware of this, they will find other more expensive diagnostic methods to pinpoint your misfire. The only thing you can do here is kiss your money good bye. We don't want this tp happen, and that is why we share information like our incredibly valuable Youtube video on how to do a mode 6 scan. If you have other friends and family with a 1997 through 2010 Ford, share this video with them as well. We really want you to save money when doing this. It hurts to hear someone spending over $500 in diagnostic work that could have been easily performed with a $50-$100 mode 6 scanner. Plus you can use this on all of your vehicles.
