Ignition Coils For 2008 Ford Escape

The 2008 Escape was the last year this body style was offered. It uses individual ignition coil on plugs. The 2.3l engine uses 4 coil packs and the 3.0l V6 engine uses 6 coil packs. Each ignition coil sits right over each spark plugs. This new design takes over the old spark plug wire design, and while it makes the Escape better in every way, the down side is the cost. Each of these ignition coils can run from $50 and up at the local store. Even worse, what doesn't help is that when these coils are old (around 7 years or so) and one fails, the rest are on their way out also. It's best and most time efficient to change all of the ignition coils at once. We remove the cost factor in this situation with our incredibly prices high quality ignition coils. Many times a full set of our coil packs can cost just as much as one. Yes, that's right. A frequently asked question is "how are you coils so cheap? We are able to sell our products for a much lower price than any other brick and mortar store by buying large quantities at once and selling direct and in sets. This means that we don't sell crap. We have high quality ignition coils for your 2008 Ford Escape that we offer a lifetime warranty on them. This warranty is good for as long as you own your 08' Escape. Instead of selling to the distribution facility, who in turn sells to the auto parts store, marking the price up several times along the way, we sell direct to you, cutting the middle man out. This allows us to get the same or better quality parts as your local store ad dealer, not just crap.

Saving Money on Ignition Coils and Shop Labor For Your 2008 Ford Escape

Not only do we want to save you money on the parts themselves, we have a how-to section to help you learn how to do this job yourself. If you are mechanically inclined, you can save several hundred more dollars on doing this job yourself. The 2.3l engine is very easy to replace the coils, while the 3.0l V6 may seem harder. The key phrase here is "seems harder". Three ignition coils on the firewall side are underneath the intake manifold. The intake manifold was designed to be removed easily when servicing the vehicle. While it definitely takes more work than changing the coils in the 2.3l, it is not difficult by any means. See our how-to section to learn how to do this job. It may be a whole lot easier than you'd think.

Diagnosing a Bad Ignition Coil in your 2008 Ford Escape

First things first. Get yourself an OBDII scanner if you do not have one. They run under $10 online, and you can use it on any US vehicle 1996 and newer. All US cars and trucks have an OBDII port underneath the dashboard. This tool will help you to scan the service engine light and find out exactly why it is on. If you feel your Ford Escape misfiring, then a service engine light will come one sooner or later. Once the service engine light comes one, you can plug your scanner in to see which cylinder it is misfiring from. From here, you can pinpoint your issue, or at least narrow it down. You will be able to tell if you have a bad ignition coils or another problem.
