2007 Acura TL Ignition Coils

2007 Acura TL Ignition Coils

The 2007 Acura TL uses a coil on plug design which means that there is one ignition coil per cylinder. As these age, they tend to fail within a short period of time from each other, and buying them from a parts store can be pricey. We offer a low cost alternative for the same quality aftermarket parts as the local parts store. We don't do this by cutting down quality. Instead we order large quantities, allowing us to get an insanely low wholesale price. Basically, we can bring you quality parts for a low price. On top of this we guarantee the ignition coils to be free of defects for as long as you own your 2007 Acura TL. If you were to have a bad ignition coil at any time during the time you own your '07 TL, then we will pay for the return and send a replacement free of charge. On top of our low prices, our main goal is to save our customers money. If you are trying to diagnose a misfire with your 2007 Acura TL, keep reading. We just might have the information you have been looking for.

Diagnosing a Misfire in a 2007 Acura TL

First tool you will need is an OBDII scanner. These are quite cheap these days as you can find one for under $20 at many online retailers. With an OBDII scanner, you can find out why your check engine light is on. Misfire codes are P0300, P0301 P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305 and P0306. The last number represents the cylinder of the misfire, and the P0300 means random misfire. Once you get a misfire code, you will want to swap the ignition coil from the misfiring cylinder to another cylinder to see if the code follows. If you are not sure which cylinder is which, check out our cylinder number diagram for the 2007 Acura TL 3.2L V6. After moving the ignition coil, we recommend resetting the ECU to prevent a false reading. This gives the computer in your TL a chance to identify the new location of the misfire. If the misfire location does not move, then the ignition coil is not faulty, and you will want to start checking other things like crank and cam sensors, MAF, fuel injectors, intake leaks, etc.

Replacing Ignition Coils in 2007 Acura TL

The ignition coils in the 2007 Acura TL are actually quite easy to replace. The front three ignition coils are immediately in view. All you have to do is remove the plastic covering. The rear three ignition coils are also easy to change if you stand on the front passenger's side of your TL. If you have even a basic mechanical ability, you will be able to do this job within 30 minutes. This will save you several hundred dollars over taking your Acura TL to a mechanic. Our goal is to save you money, not just on the parts, but on the entire process from diagnostic to repair. We DIYers and auto enthusiasts ourselves, we know how important it is to save as much money as possible when it comes to working on your vehicle.
