2002

The 2002 Acura TL 3.2L V6 requires 6 individual ignition coil on plugs if one were to fail, and the rest are old (around 7 years or older). Replacing the full set of 6 is beneficial in savings and time. In many cases you may get more than one misfire code, even if one cylinder is misfiring, making replacing one ignition coil at a time a major challenge. If you have been turned off by the price at the brick and mortar stores, you may just want to check out our prices. We want to emphasize that we work hard to maintain great quality with great prices. You may think we are the cheapest on the internet. We are not, nor do we strive to bring you a product that may need replacing just a month down the road, or even worse, a product that doesn't even work on the first try. We are however still extremely competitively priced. You may even notice our full set of 6 ignition coils for your '02 TL are just as much as one local ignition coil (in many cases), which shocks most people. We also include a lifetime warranty on the ignition coils for your 2002 Acura TL, good for as long as you own it, and it covers all shipping back and fourth; this is simply unmatched by competitors. We're serious about saving you money, and our products are worth a look.

2002 Acura TL Ignition Coil Packs

The 2002 Acura TL 3.2L uses 6 ignition coils that allow the ECU to control the engine better. While this results in better emissions, fuel economy and performance, this can cost more to replace as the six ignition coils tend to fail within a similar time frame from each other. Replacing these parts doesn't have to cost so much. Many people come to us after being shocked at local parts store prices, and that's exactly what we're here to solve. We order large quantities, allowing us to get a special price. We don't cut quality to get a cheaper part as many may first believe upon first visiting our website. We are confident in the quality of our auto parts, so much that we offer a lifetime warranty on them, which is good for as long as you own your 2002 Acura TL. We also include a 2.5g silicone dielectric grease packet which helps to keep moisture away and also helps with removal. The ECU in the 2002 Acura TL was known to not always identify the cylinder that is misfiring. We hear of many customers asking a bout a P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, and P0306 all on at the same time. Many people are lead to believe that every single cylinder is misfiring, but if that was the case, your TL would not even be able to start if all 6 cylinders were misfiring. Now you can have a P0300 random misfire, where one cylinder will misfire, then the other one will misfire, and another one, etc triggering a P0300 random misfire code.

2002 Acura TL Ignition Coil Failure Reasons

There are a number of reasons the ignition coils in your Acura TL can fail prematurely. One reasons that you really can't do much about is regional weather. If you live in a really humid region (south east USA) or an island, then the ignition coils will not last as long as that person who lives in Arizona. Humidity is the enemy if ignition coils and those who live in these types of areas may find themselves replacing the coils sooner than average. Other reasons that you can control are coolant spraying from a torn hose, improperly washing engine bay and spark plugs with a gap too large. The recommended gap on the 2002 Acura TL is 0.044. Most spark plugs are already pre-gapped, so you shouldn't have to do much, but just make sure that you are purchasing the right spark plugs. While washing the engine bay, make sure the ignition coils are properly covered, or at least don't get the high pressure nozzle anywhere near the coil packs. While the connectors do have a seal, high pressure water can be forced around the seal. The last ant not so common way is during the diagnosing process. It is okay to remove the harness connector from the coil while the engine is running. It is NOT okay to life the ignition coil pack up and off of the spark plug while the engine is running.
