Ignition Coils For Acura CL

Ignition Coils for your Acura CL

The Acura CL from 1997-2000 uses a single ignition coils that is housed inside the distributor. The 2001-2003 Acura CL uses 6 independent ignition coils (one for each spark plug). The independent ignition coils are called coil on plugs. They are typically referred to as "coil packs" "coil on plugs" or "COPs". When they are several years old, many people have noted that when one goes bad, the other old coils will follow. It is recommended to replace all of the ignition coils in the Acura CL at the same time to save time and money. We have complete sets of ignition coils for your Acura CL at significant discounts. A frequently asked question we get is "why are your coils so cheap?". We don't offer our products at such a low price because we cut back on quality. We carry the same or better quality products that many local stores carry, but we order several hundred to several thousand at the same time, allowing us to get these parts at a true wholesale price and pass the savings along to our customers. Our goal however extends beyond just saving you money on some auto parts. Our goal is to empower our customers with information to diagnose and repair their own vehicle themselves without spending a ton of money.

Diagnosing a Bad Ignition Coil Pack For Your Acura CL

If any of the 6 coil packs fail, they will trigger a check engine light. Finding out why the check engine light is on is the first thing to do. An OBDII scanner will be needed, but these can be found for under $20 at many online retailers. Turn the ignition to the ON position. This means that the dashboard lights are ON and the engine is OFF. Plug the scanner in and it will give you a code ranging from P0301 (Cylinder 1 misfire) through P0306 (Cylinder 6 misfire). Once you identify the bad coil, remove it and trade places with another coil. Start the engine and drive the car to allow the ECU enough time to identify the new misfire location. If the misfire code moves to the cylinder the coil was moved to, then you will for sure have a bad coil pack. If the coils are several years old, it's best to change all 6 at the same time. Otherwise you will be diagnosing this problem 6 times.

The ignition coils we offer for your TL come with a lifetime warranty, and 2 months to return unused ignition coils. Some retailers do not allow returns of electrical parts at all, even if they are unused. We also do not charge a restocking fee, because we don't want our customers to feel trapped when placing an order. On top of our amazing reviews, you simply can't go wrong. We want to do more then just sell you some auto parts. We want to earn your business with great customer service, and save you money on the entire process from diagnostic to repair. Select the year and engine size of your Acura CL to find the right ignition coils today!
