Ford E150 Van Ignition Coil Replacement
The Ford E150 and Econoline van is the most popular van in the USA. These vans also go by the name club wagon. With multiple engine options such as the 4.6L V8, 5.4L V8 and 6.8L V10, these vans were capable of doing everything from getting the job done to carrying a family in comfort (the conversion vans). With its chassis, it was used for just about.....everything. Some of the uses include ambulance, school bus, box van, ice cream truck, motor home, camper, deluxe comfort (the conversion van with captain chairs and curtains) and many more. Most of these vans use the modern ignition coil setup. Some of them use the single coil pack, and most of them use the coil on plug setup. When one of the coils goes bad, it is generally recommended to replace all 8 at once, especially if the coils are several years old. This is mainly because they are made at the same time, and have around the same lifespan. We have ignition coils for the E150/Econoline vans. Replacing all 8 coils in your E-150
If the coils in your E-van are original and over 7 years old and one fails, it's best to replace all 8 coils as old ignition coils tend to fail within a short period of time from one another. Replacing all 8 can also save you time and money when purchasing the bundle of coils. It can seem very difficult to purchase all 8 coils if you visit a local auto parts store. The local auto parts stores have these for $40 all the way up to $70 for each igntiion coil. We have the entire set for a lot less than the local auto parts store can touch. Common misfire codes in your Ford E-150 are P0301 (Cyl #1 misfire) all the way to P0308 (Cyl # 8 misfire). You can use an OBDII scanner to find these misfires in your E-150 van.
