This is a guide to help you replace the ignition coil in your 2.8L Passat or Audi A4, or A6 

This guide is for the following vehicles:

1998-2001 Audi A4 & A6 (including quattro)

1998-2005 Volkswagen Passat (including quattro)

This is a simple procedure that can be done by a beginner, however there are some general precautions for a beginner. 

Beginner tips:

• Do not remove all of the spark plug wires at the same time. Remove one at a time.
• Carefully remove the main connector. It is over 10 years old, and can easily break if it is not carefully removed.

1: The ignition coil is located right behind the hood latch. Carefully remove the main connector. 

2: Remove the 4 bolts holding it down. 

3: Remove the coil and install the new coil.

4. Reverse all of the steps and youare done!
