2005 Nissan Quest Ignition Coil

Ignition Coil Replacement For 2005 Nissan Quest

The ignition coils in the 3.5L (VQ35) 2005 Nissan Quest can wear out over the years. A faulty ignition coil pack can cause a misfire, and trigger some ODBII misfire codes (P0301, etc.). When it comes time to replace these ignition coils, the local auto stores can be quite pricey. Especially when one coil can cost from $50 t o$100.We have the full set of 6 ignition coils that are deeply discounted compared to the local auto parts store. If you are worried about the price, we have that covered as you can purchase a pack of 6 from us for the price of one from local stores in some cases. A frequently asked question we get is "why are your parts so cheap?". Are they low quality? This is a perfectly reasonable question to ask. We do this by purchasing several hundred to several thousand of a single ignition coil, just for your Nissan Quest. This allows us to offer them at a true wholesale price on our retail website and even in person. We also accept walk-ins/will call pick up as well. Make sure to read our customer service page, as you must either bring a credit or debit card, or exact cash. It's best to replace the full set of 6 ignition coil on plugs at once, especially if the ignition coil are old as they tend to fail within a similar timeframe, like lightbulbs. Not to mention, three ignition coils out of the 6 are underneath the intake manifold. Once you have the intake manifold off, it's best to just replace the three ignition coils. While the intake manifold in the Nissan Quest does not take very long to remove (20 minutes for a professional), it can take a beginner up to an hour. We have a number of things to check before replacing these parts in your 2005 Nissan Quest.

Things to Check Before Replacing Ignition Coils in Your 2005 Nissan Quest

First thing to check is the main ground. This is the big ground cable that goes from the negative terminal on the battery and connects to the transmission. These cables are known to break off and cause all sorts of electrical issues, starting with melted ignition coils and a damaged ECU (main computer). If you are changing the coils, and notice that they look to be melted or scorched (bubbled up, etc.) then you most likely have a bad main ground cable. Do not replace the ignition coils until this cable is replaced. If it is significantly rusted or corroded, clean it off. If you can't clean it off, it must be changed. This will prevent your new ignition coils from becoming damaged when your start your Nissan Quest. You can also find out the location of the misfire with a basic OBDII scanner for under $20 online. These will give you a code from P0301 through P0306 (if you have a misfire). Once you get this code, locate the cylinder of the misfire. we recommend performing a quick ignition coil switch where you move the coil from the misfiring cylinder to the next cylinder. This will tell you if the problem, is related to a bad ignition coil, or something else. Doing this will prevent ordering parts that you don't need ,and ultimately save you a lot of time and money getting your Nissan Quest running like a champ again.
