Cadillac STS Ignition Coil

Ignition Coils For Cadillac STS

The modern Cadillac STS uses individual ignition coil on plugs. This is a distributor-less ignition system that has advantages of the old distributor ignition systems, including better power on demand, fuel economy, and cleaner emissions. The only downside was high cost of replacing each ignition coil. Notice we said "was"? This is because the cost of these ignition coils at local stores can run from $50 all the way up to $100 for each one! We have the same quality ignition coils for a whole lot less. How do we do this? We are different for your regular auto parts store as we carry several hundred to several thousand of a single item. This allows us to get the ignition coils for your Cadillac STS for prices that are much lower than any store you've been to. not to mention we include a lifetime warranty, and they ship for free. The We have discounted quality aftermarket ignition coils for your Cadillac STS. We have single coils and full sets. If you have been looking for ignition coils, you've come to the right place. We recommend to replace all of the coils in the vehicle especially if the coils are several years old, and one fails. Instructions on replacing the coils can be found in our how-to section. There are many reasons you can have a misfire in your STS from a bad fuel injector to even low oil pressure (that can cause misfires in some STS V6 models) but the ignition coils are the most common reasons for misfiring for vehicles around 6 years or older.

Cost To Replace Ignition Coils For Cadillac STS

This cost will usually hover around $500 and up depending on who you take it to. While we only sell auto parts, our goal isn't to just save you money on some auto parts. We want you to save money on the entire process from diagnostic to repair. A bad ignition coil will cause your Cadillac STS to run rough, and a check engine light will turn on. An entry level OBDII scanner will help you find out why your check engine light is on. Common misfire codes for the STS are P0300 (random) P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, and P0306. The last number represents the cylinder number of the misfire. You can simply swap the ignition coil from any misfiring cylinder over to another cylinder. The coil packs in this vehicle are all the same and can be moved to any cylinder. If the misfire code moves to the same cylinder that the coil pack was moved to then, the problem is with the coil pack. If the misfire code does not move, then there is another issue. We recommend resetting the ECU computer either with your scanner or by disconnecting the battery for at least two minutes to prevent any false readings. This will prevent you from spending money on parts that may not be faulty in the first place.
