Ignition Coils For 2003 Ford F-150

This ignition coil fits a 2003 Ford F150 with the 4.6L or 5.4L V8. The rubber boot has an angle to it.

The 2003 F150 was the last year Ford used the tenth generation (1997-2003) body style. The 2003 F150 with both the 4.6L V8 and 5.4L V8 uses the DG508 ignition coil. These trucks have 8 ignition coils. One for each cylinder. Common check engine light codes for a bad coil are P0301 (Cyl #1 misfire), P0302 (Cyl #2 misfire), and so on. If you don't own an OBDII scanner, you can purchase one online for under $30 at many retailers. When one of these coils goes bad, and the rest are original, it's best to replace all of the coils. The local auto parts store has these coils for $40 to $80 for each coil. We have the entire set of 8 for an incredible deal, and not to mention we offer a lifetime warranty which is good for as long as you own your 2003 F150. New coils in your F150 will restore fuel economy, emissions, and power. Plus you'll get rid of those pesky misfires. These ignition coils do not have a life expectancy. it varies greatly by region and weather. hHumid climates can cause ignition coils to fail much sooner than coils in dry climates. What we do know is that when old coils start failing, they tend to all fail within a short time frame which can be anywhere from a day apart to a few months apart.

What a bad coil feels like on your 2003 F150

If your '03 F150 has a bad ignition coil, you will notice the engine may have a slight hesitation when under a load (Eg: accelerating from a stand still, going up a hill, or when towing). Once the check engine light come on, you will be able to find out what cylidner is misfiring, or if it's a misfire at all. If there is no check engine light, but you still feel a misfire, check out our how-to section and click on the Ford link. Yes, we have a guide on how to find misfires without a check engine light in your 2003 Ford F150! Once you find the misfire, you can swap the bad coil with a good coil, reset the compiter and re-scan when the check engine light comes back on. If the misfire code follows the ignition coil, then you have a bad coil. If the misfire is still on the same cylinder, then you may have another problem. These ignition coils are fairly straight forward to change. It just takes a little more time to reach the back ignition coils (Cyl # 4 and Cyl #8).

Why our ignition coil prices are much lower than the competition?

This is a number one question asked by our customers and potential customers, and a very good question. We are able to offer low prices by purchasing in large volume and selling retail directly to our customers. Instead of selling to a distribution warehouse, who in turn sells to the auto parts store, all marking the price up along the way, we sell directly to our customers. Selling coils in complete sets also allows us to cut down on the shipping bill as well. It costs only a little bit more to ship all 8 coils instead of just 1. We also don't dropship. At least not yet. We have a physical stock in our warehouse. Our goal really is to save you money.
