Ignition Coils For 2001 Ford F150

Pictured here is the exact ignition coil used in a 2001 Ford F150 4.6L & 5.4L V8

The 2001 Ford F150 had individual ignition coils (except for the V6). The 2001 F150 has two different V8 engines, the 4.6L V8 and the 5.4L V8. Both of these engines share the same exact ignition coil. Many F150 owners usually refer to these as coil packs or coil on plugs. When replacing the coil packs in your 2001 F150, it is best to change all 8 at the same time. This is especially true if they are over 6 years old. Not only will it save you the hassle of replacing each coil one by one, but you will also save money by purchasing the bundle. How much money can you save exactly? Several hundred dollars. If you are skeptical of our quality, we urge you to visit the F150 forums. We are present, and engage with customers to answer all questions, and make sure everyone is 100% squared away.

Bad ignition coils in the 2001 F150 is a common issue. In fact, so common that this type of ignition coil is the most commonly replaced ignition coil. If you have a misfire, there can be many things causing it, but most likely it will be the coils. Some of the Fords of this year don't like to throw a check engine light if you don't have an ignition coil that is consistently misfiring. A lot of 2001 F150 owners experience slight misfires under a load (towing, acceleration, etc). These misfire can be found, even if there is no check engine light on! See our How-To section to find out exactly how to find these for FREE. If the coils in your 2001 F150 are not original, or less than 6 years old, you might be able to get away with replacing one. Otherwise, we recommend to replace all 8 at the same time.

There is no predictable lifespan for these ignition coils. A general guide is at the 6-7 year mark, if you have a bad coil, we recommend to replace the rest of them. If you do not, no need to replace them. Anybody who has a 2001 Ford F150 in a humid climate will experience a failure sooner than someone who has one in a dry state.

Rest assured, these coils come with a lifetime warranty, which is good for as long as you own your 2001 F150. To find out our pricing, select the engine size, and get rid of that misfire that has been bugging you for so long.
