Trailblazer

All Chevrolet Trailblazers use independent ignition coil on plugs. As these age, it's best to replace all at the same time as old ignition coils can fail within a short time from each other. We have single ignition coils, and the entire set of 6 at incredible prices. Not to mention, they come with a lifetime warranty against defects and easy returns for new, unused parts.

Ignition Coil For Chevrolet Trailblazer

Ignition Coils For Chevrolet Trailblazer

The Chevrolet Trailblazer uses individual ignition coil on plugs. This means that there is one ignition coil for each spark plug. This modern system replaces the older distributor system as it is far more efficient, allowing for both power and fuel economy on demand. The only downside used to be the high cost in replacing each ignition coil. Note that we said "used to be". Before Araparts, the only option was the local store. Many stores offer these for around $40 all the way up to $80 each (some may charge more).Yes, that's for each ignition coil. The trailblazer requires either 6 or 8 depending on if it uses a 6 Cyl or V8 engine. These costs can add up very quickly and get into the $500 or more range when you factor in diagnostic, labor, and price markups. Our goal is to bring this costs down, and we have succeeded in bringing you high quality ignition coils for prices that are jaw dropping. We don't do this by lowering the quality of the products we offer however. We do this by ordering a very large quantity of several hundred to several thousand of each type of ignition coil, which allows us to get these parts at true wholesale prices and pass these savings onto our customers. not to mention, we also offer a lifetime warranty against defects. Plus, our goal is not to just save you some money on the parts. We want you to save money on the entire process. This means that is your Trailblazer is running rough, we would like to offer advice on how to save money without paying through the nose at the mechanic shop every time to find out why.

Diagnosing a Misfire In Your Chevrolet Trailblazer

To start with saving money, get ahold of an OBDII scanner. These devices are incredibly low cost (under $20 at many online retailers) and will tell you why the check engine light is on in your Trailblazer. Misfire codes for range from P0301 through P0306. The last number represents the cylinder location of the misfire. For the Inline 6 Cylinder Trailblazer, cylinder number one is located closest to the belts, and cylinder number 6 is located furthest away from the belts (by the firewall). For the V8, we have an image of the cylinder numbers on your Trailblazer. Once you locate the cylinder that is misfiring, move the ignition coil pack over to another cylinder. Reset the ECU (computer) with your OBDII scanner, or by disconnecting the battery for at least 2 minutes. Start and drive your Trailblazer until the check engine light comes back on. This will allow the ECU to identify the new misfire location and prevent false readings. If the misfire moves to another cylinder, then the ignition coil is certainly the problem. If the misfire code stays the same, then there is another problem. Replacing the coils is fairly easy on the Trailblazer. See our how-to section to find out what's required.
