Ignition Coils for Chevrolet Tahoe

There is some very important information you need to know before buying ignition coils for your Tahoe. The Tahoe uses two different styles of ignition coils, round and square. Here at Araparts, we do not use the VIN number to identify the engine because we have discovered that many vehicles have had their engines replaced and the VIN no longer properly identifies which type of ignition coils the Tahoe uses. Check out our detailed video explaining on how to easily find this out. It's best to open the hood, and take a look at the coils. The part number is stamped on the metal shell. If there is no part number, you can easily identify the coils by looking at them. The Chevrolet Tahoe uses 8 individual ignition coils. Each coil is connected to the spark plugs by a spark plug wire. Many owners call these coil packs, but the proper term is ignition coil. When these coils are over 7 years old and one fails, it is best to change all 8 at the same time. These ignition coils can run up to $50 each or even more at the local auto parts store. We have the full set of 8 with a lifetime warranty at an incredible price.

Why should I replace all 8?

Now if your coils are under 7 years, you may be able to get away with replacing one, but if the coils are older than that, its best to just change them all. Usually more than one coil will fail within a short period of time if they are all old. While the coils in these are easy to change, having to diagnose it multiple times can be time consuming and frustrating. It is best to just change them all and get this job out of the way. Buying all 8 can also help you to save money on the bundle. There are two 10 mm bolts that hold these coils in place. Keep in mind that the square and round coils are not interchangeable without unnecessary work. It is common to see misfire codes like P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, and/or P0308.If you are unsure of fitment and you need help, you can always reach out to us by phone or email. Each engine that the Tahoe uses (4.8 V8, 5.3 V8, 6.0 V8) shares the same ignition coils with the only exception being that square or round can be on any of the engines. Usual symptoms of a bad ignition coil are a chugging or hesitation feeling when the engine is under a load. This means during acceleration, towing, and even if you are holding on the brake and gas to put the engine under a load when you are stopped. New ignition coils will help to make your Tahoe run smoothly, get better fuel economy, and pass emissions inspections. Select the engine your Tahoe uses to find out just how much money you can save when replacing the ignition coils.
