Ignition Coils For Chevrolet Express 1500

The Chevrolet Express uses 8 individual ignition coils. One very important thing to remember before ordering coils for your Express van is that there are 2 types of ignition coils. Square and round. When viewing the item, you will see a video near the fitment information that will help you identify the right coils for your Express van. Each coil uses a spark plug wire to connect to the spark plug. When one of these ignition coils fails, and the rest are old, it's best to change all 8 at the same time. These are fairly easy to replace. The only dilemma for most people is the cost of these coils. These can run $50 each at local stores and dealers. Then you have to change all 8 coils. Who has $400 to spend on something like this? We have a solution for this issue. We have the full set of 8 with a lifetime warranty for an incredible deal.

Symptoms of a Bad Ignition Coil in Your Chevrolet Express Van

A common symptom is a misfiring engine and a misfire code (P0301-P0308) when scanning the ECU. Another common symptom is when the engine misfires occasionally when it is put under a load (accelerating, towing, etc). These misfire can be difficult to locate. When the ignition coils are old, and one fails, it's best to replace all 8 of them at the same time. These coils are held on by two 10 mm bolts and are very easily accessible. There are some ways to determine which kind of coils your Express Van uses. One way is to look at the part number on the coils themselves. Another way is to look at the shape to tell if they are square or round. Remember, they coils are not literally square and round, but rather boxy or cylinder like in shape. See our video on how to find out which type of coils your Chevy Express uses. This video is the only video on the internet that will help you with finding the right parts. Please share this video with friends and family to help them save time, money, and frustration when purchasing parts online.

There is no lifespan for ignition coils. We generally notice that at the 7 year mark, if one coil were to fail, the other coils start failing not very long after. Different factors can affect the life on your ignition coil such as environment. Regions where it is a lot more humid are much harder on ignition coils. We see a lot more coil failures from humid states. Another thing that can affect the life is improperly gapped spark plugs. Spark plugs with a gap that is too large with cause more strain than needed on the coil causing it to run hotter. This will drastically shorten the life of any ignition coil so be sure your spark plugs are properly gapped.
