The E46 2002 BMW 325ci has the modern ignition coil set up. This car uses 6 independent ignition coils in its setup. Don't be intimidated by the fact that it's a BMW. BMW did a really good job with making these very easy to service. You just remove the plastic wiper cowl, and the cover that says "BMW" and all 6 ignition coils are fully exposed. The coils are held in with 2 10mm bolts. If the coils are original or several years old, you may notice when on coil goes bad, the others will follow.
