Ignition Coil For Acura MDX

Ignition Coil Replacement For Your Acura MDX

The Acura MDX uses a coil on plug type setup. These are also referred to as COPs or "coil packs". It uses 6 independent ignition coils. When an ignition coil goes bad, it may feel like the engine is hiccupping, skipping, or surging. If the ignition coils are several years old and one goes bad, it is generally recommended to replace all of them at the same time to save time and money. If you have ever tried to diagnose a misfire in an MDX, you may find out that is seems quite difficult compares to other vehicles. That is because the Acura MDX computer does not always identify which cylinder is misfiring. A lot of owners and mechanics notice that they show a misfire code for all 6 cylinders, even if one cylinder is misfiring. See our how-to section to find out what to do when diagnosing your MDX. We also like to include as much information as we can here as well so you don't have to do too much work in getting the information that you need.

Diagnosing a Bad Ignition Coil in Your Acura MDX

The MDX uses 6 coils, and as they age, they tend to fail like light bulbs.....in a short period of time from each other. When one goes bad, your engine will run rough, and you will get a check engine light. Any cheap sub $20 OBDII scanner can tell you why it is on, and we highly recommend owning one of these; even if you don't work on your car. Why? Because walking into the mechanic shop with knowledge is priceless and can save you from inexperienced or dishonest mechanics. Once you scan the check engine light for codes, you will be able to identify which coil is causing the misfire. Once you find this, swap it to the next cylinder and rescan to see if the misfire code changes to the cylinder it was moved to. If it does, then the coils are on their way out and need to be replaced.

We have sets of 6 ignition coils for your Acura MDX at significant discounts. On top of this, we are confident in the quality of our products and offer a lifetime warranty, good for as long as you own your Acura MDX. If any coil fails during this time, we will py for return shipping, and send a replacement free of charge. Not to mention we allow a full 2 months to return any ignition coil or set of coils as we understand a misdiagnosis can happen. We are able to sell them for much lower because we purchase several hundred to several thousand of these ignition coils at once. This allows us to get the same quality part that you'd see at your local aftermarket auto parts store, but at a fraction of the price. Select the year and engine size of your Acura MDX to find the ignition coils you need!
