The Ignition coils in the 1.8T VWs are a commonly replaced part. It was said that the original coils in the early model 1.8T experiences a high failure rate. Our ignition coils are the revised aftermarket version, so you know that you will have the proper coil. The ICM is built into these particular ignition coils for the 1.8T, and the coils live in high heat conditions. Humidity, and high temperatures are cause for older ignition coils failing. Checking vehicle grounds in your 1.8T, wiring, and other components such as the vehicle computer (also referred to as the PCM, ECU, or ECM) for damage can prevent repeated failure of ignition coils and save hundreds, or even thousands of dollars in repairs.
