2001-2005 Civic 1.7L Ignition Coil Replacement Instructions & Video.

The ignition coils in the 2001-2005 Honda Civic are very easy to change.

Tools needed:

10mm socket & ratchet or wrench The only tool you need is a 10mm socket and ratchet (or 10mm wrench).

2: Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition coil. We recommend to carefully remove the clip. Carefully wiggle the clip off as it may be brittle from 10+ years of service. It may be easier to remove the 10mm bolt first, lift the coil up, and the remove the connector for some of the coils if you can't reach the connector. In the video, we couldn't reach the connector by hand, so we used a flat head to gently press the tab on the clip while we removed it.

2: Use the 10mm socket to remove the bolt, and simply remove the ignition coil.

Simply reverse the process, and you're finished!
