Escalade

Before ordering ignition coils for your Escalade, pay close attention to our fitment video. This video makes it easy to identify the right ignition coil used in your Escalade by either number stamped on it, or simply just appearance. The Escalade uses two different styles of ignition coils, and we want to ensure you are ordering the right parts so you can get your Escalade running properly sooner. If you do accidentally order the wrong parts, don't worry! We can either exchange, or refund and we do not charge any restocking fees. The coil packs we offer for the Escalade come with a lifetime warranty against defects as well.

Cadillac Escalade Ignition Coil

Ignition Coils For Cadillac Escalade

If your Escalade has been misfiring, you came to the right place. The ignition coils on the Escalade are placed in an easy to access location. Common error codes for a misfire are P0301 through P0308. Both the ignition coil and the spark plug wire should be examined if you have a misfire. The easiest way to narrow the problem is to move the ignition coil to the next cylinder, reset the Computer in the Escalade, and drive it until the check engine light comes back on. If the misfire code follows the ignition coil, you know for sure that the ignition coil needs to be replaced. If the code remains on the same cylinder, even after moving the coil, it is something else causing the misfire. If the coils are several years old, it is recommended to replace all 8 at once, as the others are likely to fail within the coming months (or days for some owners). We have the full set of 8 ignition coils at unbeatable prices here at Araparts. The Cadillac Escalade uses the 6.0L V8 premium engine out of the GM V8 engine lineup, but there is one important thing to know before purchasing ignition coils for your Cadillac Escalade: this vehicle uses two different types of ignitions coils, and it's best to physically open the hood and take a look at them. They are right on the top, and we have a video (link in the top text area) to help you identify the right type of ignition coils for your Escalade. There is a round (Delphi) and square (Melco) type of ignition coil used. It's difficult to identify these by VIN number, and this is why we created the fitment video, because the last thing anybody wants to do is return parts after they have been waiting anxiously for them to arrive in the mail. It is very common for Escalade owners to make this mistake.

Cost To Replace Ignition Coil For Your Cadillac Escalade

As parts people and mechanics ourselves, we have to speak ill of mechanics in general, however, there are a number of dishonest shops that will charge you more just because you drive an Escalade, even though this repair job is no different than working on a standard Chevy Tahoe, or Silverado. They share the exact same parts. Changing all 8 coils in your Escalade can run from $500 all the way beyond $1,000. As this repair is super easy, we would like to give you a little bit of information. First, an OBDII scanner (whether you work on cars or not) will help you immensely. Even walking into a mechanic shop armed with just knowledge is pure gold. This will tell you which cylinder is misfiring (works only if your check engine light is on). Once you identify the cylinder that's misfiring, you can simply swap the coil over, reset the ECU with your scanner or by disconnecting the battery for at least 2 minutes. Run your Escalade until the check engine light comes back on. If the misfire code follows the coil that was moved, then you know for sure that the coil is the problem.
