Ignition Coils for 1999 Ford F250

Ignition coil for 1999 Ford F250

The 1999 Ford F250 came with the 5.4L V8 and the 6.8L V10. The ignition coils used in both engines are exactly the same. When replacing these ignition coils, it's best to change them all at the same time, especially if they are original or over 7 years old. The prices at the local auto parts store may seem very intimidating. They usually run $40-$80 for aftermarket coils. Buying 8 or 10 of these is just not feasible for many families. Here at Araparts, we want to make it affordable again to buy quality ignition coils for your Ford F250. Our aftermarket ignition coils come with a lifetime warranty and free shipping, so you know you are getting a good product. Just ask many people over on the Ford truck forums who have used our parts. We stand by our parts for as long as you own your truck.

Replace all or just 1 coil in my F250?

We usually recommend replacing all of the coils in your Ford F250 if they are original. If they aren't very old and one fails, you can replace just one. We sell single coils as well for much less than you would find at the auto parts store. Replacing all of the old coils will save you time and money on the bundle. These coils don't have an estimated lifespan, and they are not included in the Ford maintenance plan. They are usually replaced when they start failing. If you live in a humid climate such as Texas, Florida, or anywhere in the south eastern region, you may find that they don't last as long as those with F250s in dry climates. When one of these coils goes bad, the other ones are not far behind as these all operate in the same environment, at the same exact time. The ignition coils are one of the most commonly replaced parts in the F250, so if you have a misfire, chances are it might be an ignition coil. There are ways to diagnose your truck to see if it is a bad ignition coil. You can simply plug your OBDII scanner in to see which cylinder the misfire is on. When you pinpoint the misfire, swap the coil from that cylinder over to a cylinder that is not misfiring. If the misfire code follows the coil, then the coil is bad. If the misfire remains on the same cylinder, then there may be another issue.

1999 F250 misfiring, but no check engine light. Frustrating? We have a solution.

This is a very common issue with the F250 and most other Fords that use this same engine. The computer actually records all misfires, but it may not turn on the check engine light if it doesn't think the misfire is bad enough. This can be frustrating if you can feel it misfiring. One way to find these misfires is with an OBDII scanner with mode 6 capabilities. Our owner actually made a video on how to do this. Check out our mode 6 scanner video to find out how!
