2002

The 2002 Ford F150 uses 8 ignition coils. Each ignition coil sits right over the spark plug and converts the 12 volts into tens of thousands of volts. When these coils are original, and they go bad, they tend to fail withing a short timeframe. If you have replaced them recently and one fails, you can get away with replacing just one. Most vehicles we encounter have the original coils, or coils that have been on the vehicle for more than 7 years. These are expensive at the local auto parts store, but we have these available at incredible prices. To find out how much money you can save with us, let us know the engine size of your 2002 F150, and our website will guide you to the part you need.

Ignition coil for 2002 Ford F150

The 2002 F150 uses 2 different sized V8 engines (4.6L V8 and 5.4L V8), and they both share the same exact ignition coil. If you are discouraged at the prices you were quoted at your local dealership or auto parts store, then you have come to the right place. We have exactly what you are looking for, but at a much better price than the local stores. If the coils in your 2002 F150 have never been changed, and one fails, it is time to replace all 8. Many owners notice after one coil fails, the others start failing not long after the first one. The full set of 8 coils is an incredible deal that will save you hundreds of dollars on this job. not to mention they have a lifetime warranty which is good for as long as you own your 2002 F150.

2002 F150 misfire codes

The 2002 F150 V8 uses 8 individual ignition coils. When they begin to go bad, they tend to do so within a short timeframe which can be anywhere from 1 day apart to 1 year apart. When plugging your OBDII scanner, you can find out if it's misfiring by checking what codes it's showing. P0301 is cylinder one, P0302 is cylinder 2, P0303 is cylinder 3 and so on. If you do find a misfiring cylinder, we recommend to swap the coil on the misfiring cylinder with the coil next to it and reset the check engine light. If the misfire follows the coil, then the coil is bad. If the misfire stays on the cylinder, then chances are it could be something else like a fuel injector or something else.
