Ignition Coil Packs For 2008 Ford Explorer

The 2008 Ford Explorer was the last year this body style was used. It ahs a 4,0L V6 which uses a single coil pack with spark plug wires, and a 3v 4.6L V8 that uses individual ignition coil on plugs. As these coil age, they tend to fail within a short period of time from each other. This is why many shops and auto parts stores recommend replacing all 8 coils are once. We have the full set of 8 coils for a little more than the cost of one. This beats the $50 and up that the local auto parts store charges for these parts. At Araparts, we also offer a lifetime warranty, and a 60 day return period. Yes, that's a full 2 months that we allow you to return the parts for any reason for a full refund. We charge no restocking fees either. This is not like many of the other online competitors, and especially not like the local auto parts stores that are extra picky when it comes to accepting returns.

Diagnosing Bad Ignition Coil in your 2008 Ford Explorer

The 2008 Explorer uses the OBDII system that all 1996 and newer cars use. This means that you can purchase an OBDII scanner online for under $10, and you will be able to scan the service engine light to see why it's on. Many times, if it is misfiring, you will get a code (like P0301, P0302, etc) that will identify the exact cylinder that is misfiring. From there you can check the coil on that cylinder to see if it is the reason for the misfire. This cheap tool will help anybody whether you know how to work on a car or not. Walking into the mechanic shop armed with knowledge is priceless and can help you find out if your mechanic is telling the truth. Many times the computer may show more than one cylinder misfiring, even if one cylinder is misfiring. For example, the PCM in the 2008 Explorer may show P0301, and P0305, even if cylinder #1 is the only one misfiring. This is something you want to keep in mind. An easy way to identify the coil that is actually misfiring is by moving the questionable coils over to another cylinder and resetting, and rescanning. This will let you know for sure if you really have a bad ignition coil.

Do Not Wait to Replace The Ignition Coil Packs in Your 2008 Ford Explorer

We highly recommend diagnosing and fixing misfires as soon as possible. While we have heard of owners driving for months, and even years with a misfire, we highly recommend against this. Driving for a short period of time with a misfire will not hurt very much, but if the catalytic converter is constantly exposed to unburnt fuel, then the life will be drastically shortened. This is why we recommend people get the Service engine light scanned as soon as possible. Many people tend to drive their cars anyways whole completely disregarding the misfire. Don't wait until it's too late. We have the ignition coils at an amazing price that just works very well with people's budgets.
