The RSX uses the modern style coil on plug setup, meaning that there is one coil for each cylinder. When the 4 ignition coils are several years old, and one goes bad, it is recommended to replace all 4 at the same time. Common misfire symptoms are hiccuping, a very rough running engine, loss of power, and a check engine light. Common codes you might see in your RSX is P0300 (random misfire). If the computer is able to locate the coil, you will get OBDII code ranging from P0301 (cylinder 1) to P0304 (cylinder 4). We've seen P0300 in a lot of Acuras, even though one is misfiring.
